Erlangen: Illegal school in the Eltersdorf district closed – Bavaria

The government of Middle Franconia has closed an apparently illegal school in the Eltersdorf district of Erlangen. According to the city, the facility was searched on Thursday after suspicion of a private learning facility being operated without a license on the private property.

The property had already been the focus of the city in the fall. This time, 15 school-age children were actually found during class time. Documents and items were confiscated, and the responsible government temporarily banned further operation of the facility. The raid on the private property was accompanied by a police support command.

Confiscated documents and objects are now being evaluated. The city and government of Middle Franconia did not initially give any further details. In September, authorities had banned the operation of an unauthorized school in an old farm in the district of Rosenheim, where around 50 children and young people had been taught. A possibly illegally operated school was also closed in the Lower Franconian district of Miltenberg.
