The two heads of state would not hold a joint press conference in Sochi, Russia, the Kremlin had made clear before the start of the meeting. The time of the Turkish delegation is not enough, it was said from Moscow. Maybe Vladimir Putin just didn’t feel like performing together. A good two weeks ago, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made him wait a whopping 50 seconds. The cameras were already rolling, filming Putin’s annoyed expression.
