ERC Ingolstadt: ice hockey fan critically injured – Bayern

3,559 spectators watched ERC Ingolstadt’s home ice hockey game against the Nuremberg Ice Tigers on Friday evening. For one of them, the evening took a life-threatening turn after the home win.

According to witnesses, the fan of the Ingolstadt club got into an argument with an unknown person in the southern parking lot of the Saturn Arena around 10 p.m. The verbal altercation was followed by a physical altercation. According to the police, the 27-year-old was attacked with a stabbing weapon and seriously injured.

The industrial mechanic who lives in Ingolstadt had to undergo emergency surgery in the hospital that night, the police said. He is currently in stable condition, but remains in intensive care. The perpetrator was able to escape undetected, according to police. As part of the manhunt, a bus with supporters of the visiting team from Nuremberg was checked on the way home, and the personal details of the occupants were recorded.

Now the criminal police are investigating an attempted homicide and are looking for witnesses to the incident.
