Equatorial Guinea created a surprise by leaving Mali in Limbé on Wednesday, after a rather sad game. Only two strikes were on target in 120 minutes, one on each side. Striker Iban Salvador tried to brighten up the evening with his theatrical displays, but the acting talent was not there. Mali will undoubtedly regret certain decisions of the referee, who did not flinch when the favorite could have benefited from a penalty, or even two.
Semi-finalist in 2015, Equatorial Guinea now has an appointment Sunday against Senegal.
