Maybe you have to have a happy ending to have a starring role in a Steven Spielberg film. Presumably, more and more is needed if this role is to embody the source of all the happy ending feelings of depth, meaning and security: the role of his mother. For his autobiographical film “The Fabelmans” he gave this role to Michelle Williams. One shouldn’t be too surprised if, when meeting her, feelings arise that not only make a happy ending possible, but also make it necessary.
