He is said to have yelled at her and bossed her around until she cried and hid from him. A former employee named Charlotte Briggs talks about how she experienced Prince Andrew.

“I ran up four floors because my employer Prince Andrew called me. His request? I may please close the curtains while he was sitting right next to me.” In an interview with the British newspaper “The Sun”, a former employee of the prince unpacked his inappropriate behavior towards her.

Buckingham Palace was once her workplace, where she mainly worked for Prince Andrew. The former employee is said to have traveled many kilometers every day to take care of the Duke of York. Sometimes he is said to have summoned Briggs four floors up just to close heavy, meter-long curtains while he himself sat “lazy” next to him, she describes. Once there was a gap between the curtains because she hadn’t closed them completely, so he is said to have yelled at her: “Can you the hell do anything right?”

Former Briggs employee: ‘Prince Andrew can fight wars but not draw curtains’

There are said to have been days when Briggs only cried and hid behind other heavy curtains from the prince and his bad temper. She adds: “This man fought for his country in the Falklands War but couldn’t get up to close his own curtains.”

Charlotte Briggs was 21 when she started working at Buckingham Palace in January 1996. After just six months, she got the job of working directly for Prince Andrew. A job “no one wanted” shortly after the Prince’s divorce from Sarah Ferguson when he moved back into the palace. Fergie’s ex was 36 at the time and reportedly expected absolutely anything to be done for him. “The two of us were responsible for Andrew, made his bed, arranged his teddy bears, laid out his pajamas, adjusted the curtains and waited on him,” Briggs describes her activities in the palace.

Charlotte Briggs also reports that she met Prince Charles and Prince Edward at the palace, who were always very nice to her. “Prince Andrew ruined my time at Buckingham Palace,” she says of the former job. “He was arrogant and he thinks he’s above everyone.”

Briggs left the Royals at £600 a month in August 1997, shortly before Diana’s death.
