Emmanuel Macron and Jean Castex down in the polls, but their management of the crisis appreciated



Emmanuel Macron and Jean Castex lost two popularity points in July, with a positive judgment of their action of respectively 39% and 38% of the French,
according to an Odoxa – Dentsu survey * for France Inter and the regional press published this Tuesday.

According to this survey, the Head of State nevertheless obtains a better appreciation of his management of the health crisis than in the spring. 42% of those polled say they are satisfied, six points better than in May.

Edouard Philippe acclaimed

But by putting the pension reform back on the table, Emmanuel Macron also dissatisfied 65% of the French, notes the Odoxa institute.

Among political figures, former Prime Minister Edouard Philippe remains popular, with 47% membership. On the right, Xavier Bertrand (ex-LR), presidential candidate, receives 27% approval, ahead of Valérie Pécresse (ex-LR, 26%) and Laurent Wauquiez (LR, 22%).

* The survey was carried out online on July 15 and 16, on a sample of 1,005 people representative of the French adult population and according to the quota method. Margin of error between 1.4 and 3.1 points.
