She gets lead role in series “Second Wife”

Emma Roberts is serving as both the lead actress and executive producer on the new series Second Wife.
After the success of “Tell Me Lies”, actress Emma Roberts (31) is teaming up again with screenwriter Meaghan Oppenheimer (36). As “Deadline” reportsthe duo is working on a new series called Second Wife for Hulu and 20th Television.
Roberts is set to star in the dark comedy and will serve as executive producer on creator Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer’s husband, Tom Ellis (44), is said to be on board as an actor and executive producer. It is the first creative collaboration between the couple, who have been married since 2019.
That’s what “Second Wife” is about
According to Deadline, Second Wife is a romantic comedy drama “about the ups and downs of a blended family.” Main character Sasha (Emma Roberts) flees New York after a terrible breakup to start afresh in London. There she meets and falls in love with newly divorced Jacob (Tom Ellis). When the two impulsively decide to get married, they realize that there’s a lot they don’t know about each other – and that they can’t flee their past forever. “Second Wife” is about intimacy, failure and second chances.
The expectations of the series project are high. Finally, Roberts and Oppenheimer celebrated a great success with their first collaboration “Tell Me Lies”. The series, based on Carola Lovering’s novel of the same name, was recently renewed for a second season. “Tell Me Lies” has been available on Disney+ since the end of December. The release date of “Second Wife” has not yet been set.
