In the Main-Danube Canal, divers and sniffer dogs searched for days for a heavily pregnant woman – but without success. The police suspect that the 39-year-old could have fallen victim to a violent crime.

The police have ended the search for a missing heavily pregnant woman in the Main-Danube Canal in Nuremberg. The 39-year-old was not found, said a police spokesman. On Monday, sonar boats and divers again searched the canal from Nuremberg harbor to the lock. According to the police, no further searches are currently planned.

The 39-year-old is eight months pregnant and lives in the Main-Danube Canal area. Her partner reported her missing on December 9th. The police are assuming a violent crime because the woman left behind money, ID cards and a maternity card. Last week, the police had unsuccessfully searched parts of the canal with sonar boats, divers, cadaver dogs and a drone.
