One day after Germany’s opening match against Scotland, Hungary and Switzerland, the other two teams from Group A, will be taking part in the 2024 European Championship for the first time. On Saturday (June 15), the first matchday of Group A will be completed with the match between Hungary and Switzerland. Kick-off in Cologne is at 3 p.m.
For Hungary, it is the fifth participation in a European Football Championship after 1964, 1972, 2016 and 2021. The 1954 vice-world champions are taking part in the European Championship for the third time in a row and want to reach the round of 16 like in 2016.
Hertha professional Marton Dardai believes the Hungarian national team is well prepared for the opening match of the European Championship against Switzerland. “I don’t have the feeling that anyone in the team is particularly nervous,” said the 22-year-old on Friday. Germany and Scotland are also waiting in Group A.
