With brooms, wooden slats and a lot of physical effort, stewards in the Dortmund stadium are trying to minimize the effects of heavy rain before Turkey’s European Championship match against Georgia. In the afternoon, they swept the water that fell like a torrent from the roofs and flowed down the stairs into open drains.
Fan marches before European Championship match in Dortmund in heavy rain
The Turkish players, including Borussia Dortmund’s professional Salih Özcan, did not let the flood of water stop them from greeting their fans. They entered the pitch around an hour and a half before the scheduled kick-off of the match at 6 p.m. and waved to their supporters in the stands. During the Georgian fans’ march to the stadium, there was also some heavy rain.
