Elton John’s farewell tour is the highest-grossing concert series of all time – and it’s not even over yet.

Elton John’s (75) farewell tour is the most successful concert series of all time even before it ends. According to Billboard Boxscore “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” has already turned over 817.9 million US dollars. The previous record holder was Ed Sheeran (31). He grossed $776.4 million on his The Divide Tour between 2017 and 2019.

Elton John has been on the road since 2018

The “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” tour has been running for over four years. At the beginning of 2018, Elton John announced his departure from the concert circuit. But he wanted to resign in a worthy setting, with a mammoth tour through Europe, North America and Oceania.

On September 8, 2018, the tour started with a gig in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Since then, Elton John has made 278 appearances. At the end of March this year, the final leg of the tour, which will take the Brit through Europe, begins. At the end of April to mid-May, John will be back in Germany after a guest performance in 2019. Stations are Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, Mannheim and Cologne.

The last concert is scheduled to take place in Stockholm on July 8, 2023. By then, John will have performed well over 300 times and further expanded his record.
