Where do the twelve points from Germany go? At this year’s ESC, moderator Elton will announce the decision.

Points will again be awarded for the best performances at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest on May 13 at the Tate Museum in Liverpool. As the NDR responsible for Germany has now announced, the local points will be announced live by moderator Elton (52). The self-confessed fan of the second division club FC St. Pauli told the broadcaster: “We prefer to get points in St. Pauli, but I’m really looking forward to being able to award points in the biggest music show in the world.”

Barbara Schöneberger moderates the supporting program

In recent years, Barbara Schöneberger (49) has taken over the task of announcing the award of points. This year she will also be part of the NDR team again and will moderate the supporting program consisting of the programs “ESC – the Countdown” and “ESC – the Aftershow”.

For Elton it is not his first assignment at the ESC either. Already in 2010 he accompanied Lena Meyer-Landrut (31) in her triumph to Oslo. In 2018 he also moderated the German ESC preliminary round together with Linda Zervakis (47), in which the singer Michael Schulte (33) prevailed at the time.
