Eleven Bavarian school newspapers awarded – Bayern

Young Bavarian journalists have won eleven prizes in the nationwide school newspaper competition. Bavaria’s Minister of Education, Michael Piazolo (Free Voters), said on Monday that “a good school newspaper informs, entertains and contributes to opinion-forming at the school”. This is “lived school culture and an important contribution to democracy education”. Each of the award-winning school newspapers was convincing in various areas such as layout or selection of topics, said the Minister of Education: “My heartfelt congratulations on these achievements.”

A total of two first places in the print categories went to Bavaria: the magazine received the award inkblot the primary school in Odelzhausen near Dachau (primary school area) and the Wallburg Express the Georg Göpfert Middle School in Eltmann, Lower Franconia. Second prizes in the print section went to the newspaper detention the middle school in Buchloe, to that School storm the Christoph-Probst-Realschule in Neu-Ulm and the innflea of the Ruperti-Gymnasium in Mühldorf am Inn. An online prize went to the Friedberg State Vocational High School. The winners of the individual school types receive prize money of EUR 1,000 for first place, EUR 500 for second place and EUR 250 for third place. The online prize is also endowed with 1000 euros in each category.
