Electro in Munich: Audrey Danza plays house and trance – Munich

In Munich’s Sonnenstraße you can get pretty close to the stars at the weekend: the difference between the sound system and the solar system becomes blurred when resident DJs and invited guests open up new worlds of sound with their performances at Harry Klein – for a little more weightlessness on the dance floor. Guest captain on Friday is Audrey Danza, who usually prefers energetic sounds and rapid transitions to dreamy, gentle indulgence. To this end, the Genevan combines house, trance, acid and dub into haunting, forward-looking sets whose danceability is appreciated beyond the borders of Switzerland and has meanwhile been tried out internationally at Danza performances.

Danza is not only resident DJ at Geneva’s Club Motel Campo, but is now on the road all over Europe and beyond, appearances have taken her to Eastern Europe, after her gig at Harry Klein she will be DJing in Cologne and Paris, club sets and festivals will be in alternate this year. Last year, Danza, invited by the Potato Head label, played a well-received gig at the Boiler Room in Bali, which in some places seems a bit more playful than the DJ’s other sets.

In addition to the performance in Bali, a guest appearance at Berghain’s Panorama Bar ensured that Danza 2022 appeared on the radar of many electro lovers. On social media platforms, listeners try to decode the setlists track by track and are happy about classics in a new guise and unknown pieces as well as about the dedication with which Danza selects and edits. In addition to her work as a DJ, Audrey Danza curates pieces of music as co-founder of the Proxima label, for which she has been jointly responsible since 2020. She now commutes between her place of residence in Switzerland and Berlin for work-related reasons.

In Munich, Friday evening at Harry Klein is themed “Perra’s Love Audrey Danza”, and two members of “Perra’s Party Service” will also be DJing: Louis EMP, who regularly plays at Garry Klein events, will open the evening, his Perras colleague MRTI close the morning. In between, Munich DJ Sianza will play alongside Audrey Danza. She is a resident at Charlie Bar and is the editor of Radio 8000’s “Commitment Issues” show, an hour-long exploration of genres ranging from garage rock to Hispanic new wave.

“Perra’s Love Audrey Danza”, Fri. Feb. 10, 10 p.m., Harry Klein, Sonnenstrasse 8
