1.5 million Turks in Germany can already have a say in whether Ankara’s president stays in power. Your choice, says integration expert Hacı-Halil Uslucan, is also a message to the Germans.

Turkey votes on May 14th. In Germany, however, 1.5 million Turks have been able to vote on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his AKP since last Thursday. How they decide also depends on how much they feel at home in Germany. At least that’s what Hacı-Halil Uslucan says: The 58-year-old psychologist is a professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen and heads it Center for Turkish Studies and Integration Research.
