Election results: “You can’t leave politics out of the canteen table” – Economy

Many East German companies are worried after the elections, as they are, after all, dependent on foreign skilled workers. Some company bosses are therefore clearly distancing themselves from the AfD – and are reaching their limits.

In the European and local elections in Saxony, Thuringia and Brandenburg, the AfD was the strongest force in many places. The party, which was classified as “certainly right-wing extremist” by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution in Saxony and Thuringia, stands for an economic policy that is strongly reminiscent of Donald Trump’s “America first”.
