Eight months suspended prison sentence required on appeal against Bastien Chalureau for racist attack

We will have to wait until January 16 to know the decision of the Toulouse Court of Appeal regarding Bastien Chalureau. This Tuesday, an eight-month suspended prison sentence was requested by the attorney general against the current 2nd international line of Montpellier, who played in the last World Cup.

At first instance, Chalureau (31 years old) was sentenced to six months in prison in November 2020, for “violence committed due to race, ethnicity, nation or religion” after the attack on two former rugby players, Yannick Larguet and Nassim Arif on the night of January 30 to 31, 2020, in downtown Toulouse.
