EDF lowers its nuclear production estimate for 2022

EDF announced on Thursday that it is revising its nuclear production for the year 2022 downwards to 275-285 TWh (terawatt hours) against 280-300 TWh previously forecast, due in particular to “the extension of the shutdown period of four nuclear reactors concerned by the program of checks and repairs of the phenomenon of corrosion under stress”.

The energy giant, of which nearly half of the reactors are unavailable due to maintenance or corrosion problems, also questioned the social movement of autumn 2022 in the power stations which had an impact “on the schedules shutdown for maintenance. »
