Ecole Centrale investigates a group of racist students

“Hate generation”. On the benches of the prestigious engineering school Centrale Lille is a handful of absolutely not recommendable students. Anti-Semites, Negrophobes, Islamophobes, even neo-Nazis, if we are to believe the words they exchange through a private discussion group on Messenger with the evocative title: “centRacisme”. And their nauseating ride could have lasted a long time if the facts had not been denounced to the school management by students and revealed publicly. by Kombini News.

According to AFP, the management of Centrale Lille had been informed, before the end of the year holidays, of the existence of this Messenger group. In the process, on December 22, a report was made to the Lille prosecutor’s office and launched a disciplinary procedure, without however specifying how many students were targeted.

Hitler, “that sensible man”

According to Amara, the student who testified with Kombini News, around 30 members regularly fueled “centRacisme” with hate speech, largely negrophobic, such as “Fuck the blacks”. Many racist images and videos were also exchanged there, not to mention neo-Nazi ideas, with one member of the group even calling Hitler “a sensible man”.

“It is under the name of the school that these attacks were made, explains the student to our colleagues. I felt concerned not only because I am black, but also because I am part of this school. »

For its part, the school management reacted on Thursday, on his Facebook page. In addition to condemning “with the greatest firmness” the comments made on this group, the management explains that “the legal and disciplinary procedures have been launched and are underway, and legally, we must respect them. Centrale Lille will apply the sanctions which will be recorded by the Disciplinary Committee. »
