A serious traffic accident led to major traffic chaos on Thursday in the evening rush hour. As reported by the police, a 41-year-old district citizen had come too far to the right on state road 2080 between Ebersberg and Forstinning for reasons that are still unclear. In order to prevent her from leaving the lane, the woman wanted to countersteer and as a result turned 90 degrees on the slippery winter road into the oncoming lane. There the collision occurred, and an 87-year-old man and his 62-year-old passenger from the Traunstein district were seriously or moderately injured. The woman who caused the accident also suffered moderate injuries, according to police. The damage is 20,000 euros. Due to the accident, the state road had to be temporarily closed completely. As a result, a long traffic jam formed, which ran through the entire city area and led to considerable delays in the rush hour traffic together with the wintry road conditions.
