She no longer has a scale in her house today. Because Kim Bui had climbed on the scales for years, before every training session, before every competition. Weight control was as much a part of gymnast Kim Bui’s life as twists, somersaults and vomiting, sometimes multiple times a day. “100 grams less than yesterday – it would be a good day. 100 grams more than yesterday – it would be a shitty day,” she writes in her biography.
