According to the German Weather Service’s forecast, sun and warmth will be followed by cooling, rain and wind. From Tuesday onwards, this will affect the whole of Germany.
Autumn is here in the calendar and the weather is adapting: After a sunny weekend, Rain and cooler air widespread. “The high pressure influence is saying goodbye,” explains Sonja Stöckle from the forecast center of the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach.
On Monday, the precipitation will gradually spread eastwards from the southwest and west, while the far east will remain unaffected until the evening. As a result, temperatures there will again reach up to 26 degrees, while in the southwest temperatures will only reach between 18 and 22 degrees.
Sunday (September 22nd) is the beginning of the calendar or astronomical autumn. Then day and night are the same length.
At the weekend, there was once again a summer feeling with temperatures over 25 degrees and lots of sunshine – much to the delight of day-trippers across Germany and fans of the Oktoberfest, which began in Munich.
Cooler air to be felt everywhere from Tuesday
On Tuesday, cooler air will continue to trickle in from the west, which will then be felt across Germany, the DWD predicts. Maximum temperatures will only be between 16 and 22 degrees, and the weather will be unstable in autumn. Showers and thunderstorms are to be expected again and again. Stormy gusts will blow in the mountains and on the North Sea.
“The changeable and somewhat cooler weather will last the whole week,” explained meteorologist Stöckle. Storm gusts will occur at times, especially in the mountains and on the coast. “It’s best to get your kite ready,” she recommended. There will be one or two opportunities to fly one this week.
