Drunk motorist throws a snake at the police to escape control

Over the past weekend, the police in Amiens, in the Somme, were attacked by a motorist they wanted to control. Surprisingly, it was with the help of a snake that the individual tried to evade control, we learned on Thursday from the Somme police.

A police crew patrolling Amiens spotted a vehicle with suspicious enough behavior to warrant a check. The vehicle intercepted, the officers dismounted to proceed as they usually do. What follows is less banal. For some reason beyond belief, the driver was in possession of a snake in his vehicle. Snake that he threw in the direction of the police and which landed inside their vehicle.

“Gun violence by destination”

The officials immediately closed the doors so that the reptile did not escape before dealing with the individual. About fifty years old according to our colleagues from the Mail Picard, the man was also intoxicated, says the Somme police, adding that he had thrown his snake in an attempt to escape control. He was therefore immediately taken into custody. The motorist will soon be tried for this offence, but also for violence with a weapon by destination on persons holding public authority.

The fate reserved for the snake, which was recovered by the firefighters, is unknown. This is Corn Snake (Pantherophis guttatus), a non-venomous species highly prized by terrariophiles. Harmless, therefore, but whose size, which can go up to 1.50 m, can impress.
