A drunk night owl on the Place du Capitole. When at 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, the municipal police officers from Toulouse checked a man in his thirties, everything suggested that it was a classic case of “festayre”, a little more cheesy: The man was pushing a speaker in a stroller and had turned the volume up to full volume.
[1/2] 1:20 am tonight, Capitole square, 8°C.
A PM crew intervenes on an individual who is pushing a speaker, music at full volume, in… a stroller.
Once the sound is cut, the 👮♂️ discover a newborn 👼 (- 2 months) barely dressed and freezing, crying. The father is drunk— Emilion Esnault (@EmilionEsnault) September 14, 2024
But, as Security Assistant Emilien Esnault revealed on X, the stroller unfortunately wasn’t just carrying a blaring sound system: there was also a baby, “less than 2 months old”, wearing only a bodysuit while it was 8°C that night in the Ville Rose.
A warm baby bottle in the police car
The police officers put the baby in a warm place in their car and gave him his bottle before taking him to the psychiatric emergency room. The father was handed over to the national police, initially placed in a sobering-up cell, then in police custody for “child abandonment.”
According to information from The Midi Dispatchthe father had 1.25 g of alcohol in his blood and the examination of the baby revealed at least one burn mark on his body.
