Drug war in the USA: Trial against ex-police chief of Mexico

Mexico’s former police chief Genaro García Luna, once considered an ally of the United States in the war on drugs, is now on trial in New York. It looks like he worked even better with the narcos than he did with the CIA.

Hillary Clinton will not like to remember it either, but this defendant was once considered an American ally. Photos from 2009 show the then US Secretary of State in Mexico with Genaro García Luna, in conversation, on the bed of a police car and in front of a type helicopter Black Hawk. At the time, García Luna was security minister for Mexican President Felipe Calderón, he was allowed to shake hands with Barack Obama, met CIA boss David Petraeus and Senator John McCain.
