Driving license quiz: Would you pass the theory test?

Everyone is talking about driving licenses these days – after all, they cost more than ever. In order to get a driving license as cheaply as possible, you should try to pass all the tests straight away. What are your chances?

For some people, a driving license is simply part of being an adult. The work to get a license often begins at the age of 16. The practical test for a driving license from the age of 17 can be taken one month before the 17th birthday. Then nothing stands in the way of great freedom.

Driving license under criticism

The driving license is currently making a lot of negative headlines. The failure rate is getting higher and higher, the costs are rising – the “license” is becoming a luxury. In addition, in some places there are long waiting times for tests.

How quickly you get your driver’s license is not just up to the learner driver. But passing the exams has always been considered the best way to get through driver training as quickly as possible.

The first hurdle in obtaining a driving license is the theoretical driving test. If you are acquiring a car driving license (class B) for the first time, you have to answer 30 questions under fairly strict observation, divided into basic and additional material. The latter contains class-specific questions.

Enormous failure rates among driving students

If you get your driving license without having a previous driving license, you can collect a total of ten error points in the theory test. If you get one too many, you have to repeat the test. Exception: If the error points you have earned consist of two questions with five points each, the test is also considered failed.

The exam can be repeated after two weeks at the earliest. You can repeat the exam as often as you like; there is no waiting period after a certain number of failed exams.

Use the quiz to test how error-free you can get through the questions using current questions from the Dekra catalog. The 15 multiple choice questions are a reduced test. But be careful: many of the questions are similar or contain subtle pitfalls that often only become apparent after reading them several times. In addition, it is possible to give multiple answers to some questions.

If it doesn’t work out – no problem. You are not alone. The failure rate in Germany is currently 49 percent.
