Once a year, the best sailing yachts and motor boats of the year are chosen. You can’t win an Oscar in this industry with a pleasing exterior, the models have to prove themselves in extensive tests by the trade press. Germany is represented by two magazines on the international jury. In the group of sailing boats it is the magazine “Yacht”, in the group of motor boats it is the magazine “Boote”.
After the pandemic, the award ceremony finally took place again at the “Boot Düsseldorf” water sports fair. The awards “European Yacht of the Year 2023” (EYOTY) for sailing yachts and “European Powerboat of the Year 2023” (EPOTY) for motor boats were awarded in several categories. The jury consists of test managers and editors-in-chief from twelve sailing and eight motorboat magazines from all over Europe. Numerous new sailing yachts and motor boats were presented last year – only the top models made it onto the shortlist. Eleven models received the award, the winners are shown in our photo series.
