Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall-Winter 2025/2026 Collection Unveiled
With a captivating blend of glamorous elegance and sleek silhouettes, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana debuted their latest fall-winter 2025/2026 collection in Milan on Saturday. Drawing inspiration from the cinematic world of Federico Fellini, the duo infused subtle eccentricities into their designs, creating a collection that is both timeless and innovative.
A Star-Studded Showcase
On the second day of men’s fashion week, fashion enthusiasts flocked to the Metropol, the brand’s iconic headquarters, eager to capture the arrival of influencers and K-pop stars through their smartphones. Inside this historic venue, reminiscent of a classic cinema, models strutted down a red carpet, evoking the glamour of the silver screen as paparazzi in sleek black suits snapped away.
This theatrical presentation pays homage to Fellini’s 1960 film ‘La dolce vita,’ which popularized the term ‘paparazzi’ for photographers who specialize in celebrity captures. The first segment of the show beautifully illustrates the everyday life of these imagined film stars, who effortlessly transition from casual jeans and turtlenecks to luxurious long faux fur coats, including striking leopard prints.
Loose, flowing trousers crafted from denim, velvet, or leather are often cinched with double belts, paired with tailored jackets, cardigans, or oversized blousons. While extravagant gold pendants are sparse, essential accessories like newsboy caps and handbags remain key components of the Dolce & Gabbana man’s wardrobe.
Timeless Elegance Meets Modern Whimsy
Black, a signature color that evokes the designers’ Sicilian roots, takes center stage in the collection, complemented by shades of white, gray, green, and brown. The second portion of the show, set to the enchanting melodies of Fellini’s films, showcases evening wear that embodies sophistication while incorporating playful elements.
The classic black bow tie makes a stylish comeback, often worn over unbuttoned white silk shirts and paired with delicate, long shawls draped effortlessly around the neck. Fitted black jackets shine with oversized gold or silver brooches, while vests are boldly worn against bare skin, and corsets are used to accentuate the male form.
As Dolce & Gabbana celebrates forty years of fashion excellence, they affirm their commitment to returning to their roots. Since early 2023, the brand has embraced a more streamlined silhouette, focusing on artisanal luxury and the cherished tradition of ‘fatto a mano’ (handmade) Italian craftsmanship.
“We aimed to reconnect with the DNA, the essence of our brand,” the designers expressed. In a strategic shift, Dolce & Gabbana has chosen to cater to a more mature audience, focusing on consumers who value product quality and ethical considerations, as highlighted by CEO Alfonso Dolce in July 2024. As the younger audience becomes increasingly drawn to emerging brands, the designers have pivoted from their previous streetwear-inspired collection aimed at the TikTok generation.
