District of Munich – Series of courses on the subject of puberty – District of Munich

Help, my child is going through puberty: This is a time of physical and mental change for young people. Youngsters begin to question their place in family, among friends and in the world, finding themselves and testing boundaries. Adolescents experiment with their outward appearance, with their own sexuality, but often also with alcohol and drugs, and change their use of media.

It is a strenuous upheaval – for the young people themselves as well as for their parents and the whole family. In order to support parents in this phase, the district office’s addiction prevention team will be offering a six-part course series over the next few weeks, with the help of which participants will be able to recognize and address problematic consumer behavior and excessive media use in their child. Parents should be given strategies on how to accompany and support their children.

The series begins on Tuesday, February 7, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Munich District Office, Mariahilfplatz 17; further dates are on February 14th and 28th and on March 7th, 14th and 21st. The events build on each other and can therefore not be attended individually. Registration closes on Wednesday, February 1st, at the health department at the district office, phone: 089/62 21319 45. Places will be allocated in the order in which registrations are received. Participation is free of charge.
