District of Munich – It’s cycling again for the climate – District of Munich

In the district of Munich, it’s time to inflate the bike tires and adjust the saddles again. Because from the coming weekend onwards, we should be cycling diligently again. The “City Cycling” campaign is entering a new round. From June 26th to July 16th, as many kilometers as possible should be covered by bike in order to set an example for climate protection. All 29 municipalities are taking part and have set themselves the goal of increasing the 192 tons of CO₂ saved last year.

So far, 395 teams from the district of Munich have registered, and 2,566 participants from the local communities and towns are registered on the campaign’s registration platform. City cycling is not just about having fun cycling, but above all about getting as many people as possible to switch to cycling permanently in everyday life. The international climate protection campaign is the largest municipal network of cities, communities and districts to protect the global climate, which has more than 1700 members in 26 European countries.

For the third time this year, school cycling will also take place at the same time, complementing the campaign. In school cycling, the most active schools in the district are identified. Not only the students can participate, but also the teachers and parents of the respective school.
