District of Munich – Free voters call for rainwater storage – District of Munich

The Free Voters (FW) in the district of Munich call for better use of rainwater in an application to the district council. According to the application, climate change and the drought this summer have shown that clean drinking water must be protected. “Our drinking water is far too valuable to be flushed down toilets or to artificially irrigate public parks or sports fields.” Therefore, the FW faction insists on pushing the expansion of cisterns and the use of rainwater for watering green spaces and flushing toilets. The collection and storage options for rainwater should be checked for all new buildings in the district of Munich. Despite the high costs, the possibilities of subsequent rainwater storage and use should also be examined in detail in existing buildings in the district, the FW faction demands.
