An 83-year-old woman from Moorenweis was seriously injured when she slipped on the sidewalk on Ammerseestrasse on Friday afternoon. She broke her leg multiple times.

Drivers, on the other hand, largely escaped from accidents at the weekend with a fright and body damage. Not everyone had sufficiently considered the wintry road conditions. According to the police, the driver of a small van was traveling too fast when he got off the road at the roundabout in Mammendorf on Saturday night. The 72-year-old drove on the federal highway 2 and wanted to take the exit in the direction of Oberschweinbach at the roundabout. He drove over the traffic island and crashed into the crash barrier. The pickup truck was a total loss. The driver was not injured, but one of the four occupants suffered minor injuries. A rear-end collision occurred between Adelshofen and Nassenhausen around ten o’clock on Saturday morning, in which a bus crashed into a passenger car. The car had previously slipped and was braked. The bus driver tried to avoid the skidding car, but couldn’t stop in time. The passengers and the two drivers were not injured.

Another rear-end collision happened on Friday morning on the B 471 near Grafrath. A 62-year-old driver crashed his car into the car in front. Almost at the same time, around nine o’clock, a 25-year-old lost control of her car on Moorenweiser Strasse in Grafrath and slammed into a traffic sign. A 23-year-old from Geltendorf also lost control of his car on a snow-covered road. He slipped off the road in a right-hand bend just before Dünzelbach and crashed into a street lamp.
