Director Philipp Hartmann presents his films in the workshop cinema – Munich

Time flies, sometimes fast, sometimes painfully slow. The German director Philipp Hartmann is afraid of her passing, it’s called chronophobia. That’s why he made a film about time, 76 minutes long and 76 years long – which corresponds to the statistically calculated life expectancy for men. “Time flies like a roaring lion” is the name of this work from 2013, Hartmann will present it personally in the workshop cinema. There are three more of his films to be seen there at the weekend, and he will be present at every screening. “66 Kinos” is a film about one of his cinema tours, so he accompanied himself with the camera. “From the 84 Days” is also about the passage of time: In March 2020, young musicians from Bolivia came to Germany for concerts. These were canceled because of the corona pandemic, but they were not able to travel home either. So they made music in Brandenburg – and Hartmann filmed them at the same time.

Philipp Hartmann film series, Sat., 20. and Sun., 21. May, workshop cinema, Fraunhoferstr. 9
