Dillingen: Eleven year old girl in Twelve Tribes? – Bavaria

On Saturday afternoon, an eleven-year-old went jogging in Holzheim-Eppisburg near Dillingen on the Danube and did not return. She has been searched for since then, but has not been found. Now the Bavarian radio reportsthat the girl, who lives with a foster family, could apparently be with her birth parents, who belong to the “Twelve Tribes” sect. A member wrote the foster parents an email saying the girl was fine, according to the BR.

At the weekend, the police were looking for the girl with a contingent of around 100 emergency services. The girl’s biological family was immediately investigated, but the police did not rule out an accident or a criminal act. According to BR, the girl has been with a foster family for eight years.

The sect “Twelve Tribes” had made headlines in the north Swabian district of Donau-Ries, as the community was also accused of violence against children. In September 2013, the police took around 40 children from the communities in Deiningen in Swabia and Wörnitz in Central Franconia because of the allegations against sect members. At that time, the sect announced that it wanted to move to the Czech Republic and other European countries because they felt they were being persecuted by the state in Germany.
