Diesel scandal – allegations against Daimler – economy

The Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) sees Daimler transferred the installation of illegal defeat devices in a Mercedes E-class diesel model with an expert opinion. The software expert Felix Domke found eight shutdown devices that specifically throttled the exhaust gas cleaning in road operation, explained the DUH. Domke prepared the report on behalf of the Milberg law firm. Daimler contradicted that the functions described were known and that they were not an impermissible defeat device. The wave of claims for damages by diesel owners against Daimler has already reached the Federal Court of Justice in several proceedings. So far none of them resulted in a verdict against the car manufacturer because the existence of a defeat device alone is not considered immoral damage.
