Choupo Moting? Tel? Musiala? Unlike debutant goalkeeper Daniel Peretz, Thomas Tuchel has not decided on his staff before the cup game in Münster. A DFB player inspires Hoeneß.

Thomas Tuchel has left it open whether he will use the unequal showdown in the DFB Cup against Preußen Münster to make a big rotation.

The 50-year-old coach of FC Bayern Munich promised Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, who was convincing in the 7-0 win against VfL Bochum, a starting eleven again. “He is a very good footballer. He is very strong with his back to the goal and very good on the ball,” said Tuchel.

The cup first round game from 8.45 p.m. (ZDF and Sky) is the perfect opportunity for Tuchel to distribute the load in view of Munich’s busy program. “The English weeks are just starting now,” said Tuchel. This weekend, the Munich team continues their exciting Bundesliga task at RB Leipzig. The Champions League away game at FC Copenhagen is next week.

Tuchel: “A good combination”

You also have to give the less considered professionals “minutes to play,” said President Herbert Hainer and was happy about the Bochum appearance. “When you switch through, there is no loss of performance.”

Tuchel also signaled super joker Mathys Tel that he would soon have a chance to start. Will it work against Münster? And will Jamal Musiala play again after his break against Bochum? “We could have let him play against Bochum, but we didn’t want to take any risks. He has to stay stable now,” said Tuchel in preparation for the game. He also revealed that the new Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz should make his competitive debut for Munich in the Preußenstadion.

The much-stressed Harry Kane and Leroy Sané would be candidates for a breather. Both are in top shape. “Harry makes his teammates better, with his character, his style. Leroy is in a very good mood, good body language and a very good mindset. The two are a good combination at the moment,” said Tuchel.

Honorary President Uli Hoeneß is also enthusiastic – and not just about Kane. “When I look at Leroy Sané for weeks, my heart smiles,” the 71-year-old praised the German international.
