Kehl hopes for BVB win against Bayern: “It’s time again”

The upward trend at Borussia Dortmund also continues against Hoffenheim, who have been strong away from home. The 1-0 win at home in the cup gives us courage for the Bundesliga classic against Bayern.

Borussia Dortmund is going according to the sports director’s assessment Sebastian Kehl has good chances in the Bundesliga summit on Saturday (6.30 p.m./Sky) against record champions FC Bayern.

“We have a squad that has gained enormously in resilience and stability. This team has achieved a lot in the last few weeks. That will benefit us at the weekend,” said the 43-year-old after the 1-0 (1-0) draw. Success in the second cup round over 1899 Hoffenheim. Kehl referred to the positive results of the Bundesliga season so far: “We are still unbeaten and have a great series. We are in really good shape.”

Kehl currently sees both teams as equals: “If they get going, you can be overwhelmed. Some opponents have already felt that. But Saturday is a different game. These are two opponents who are two points apart and are playing at a very high level at the moment. It’s going to be very close.”

The Dortmund sports director is hoping for the first Bundesliga home win over Bayern since November 2018: “We obviously want to use every opportunity to beat Bayern Munich in a direct duel – it’s been a little longer at home now. It’s time again. I know our boys will give it their all on Saturday.”
