Deutsche Post DHL – More Packstations at train stations – Economy

When expanding its network of packing stations for picking up parcels, Deutsche Post DHL is increasingly relying on train station locations. The group announced a cooperation with Deutsche Bahn, through which 800 stations will be installed near the tracks. The majority should be ready for use this year. DHL already has around 100 Packstations at train stations. The new stations have a blue area in addition to the traditional yellow area. The railways should use it: Retailers can deposit parcels there so that commuters, for example, can take them with them on their way home. With this function, train stations should generally be upgraded – local shops should offer customers around-the-clock pick-up options. When it comes to parcel machines, Deutsche Post DHL has a large lead over the parcel competition, which is rather hesitant to use such stations. According to DHL, it currently has around 9,000 packing stations nationwide, for example at gas stations, supermarkets and apartment blocks.
