New Dungeon Launch in Destiny 2: Sundered Doctrine
This Tuesday marked the release of Act I from the Heretic Episode in Destiny 2. This update brings a significant shift in content delivery, most notably the absence of French dubbing, a result of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike initiated last July. While we will delve into these topics later, our primary focus now is on the introduction of the exciting new Dungeon that ties into the current narrative.
The Sundered Doctrine takes players back to the Pyramid of Rhulk, located within the Throne World of Savathûn. This site previously hosted the Disciple’s Oath Raid. Players can access it via a key included in the Annual Pass or purchase it for 2,000 Silver (approximately €20), which grants access to both Dungeons for Year 7, including this release and the Host Vesper, launched in October.
Gameplay Insights and Upcoming Events
Regrettably, there is also no French version for the launch trailer associated with this activity. For those unfamiliar with the English voiceovers, the narration is delivered by the intriguing Savathûn. Unless a surprise arises, players can expect no localized voiceovers; thus, switching the game to English (or adjusting settings for PlayStation consoles) is advisable. The backdrop features the remains of the Upside Down, prominently displaying the body of Xita, the matriarch of the Worm Gods of the Hive. Here, players will encounter the Scorn, the minions of the Witness introduced in The Final Shape, alongside Hive enemies like an Ogre and a mysterious foe reminiscent of a Psion wielding the Dark Thread.
Similar to Raids, this Dungeon will feature a World First race commencing with its launch on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 6:00 PM. The Tournament mode will be operational for 48 hours, with a recommended Power level of 1,995. After the first team completes the challenge, the Normal mode will become available. The victorious team will receive a unique trophy, the significance of which will become clear upon exploring the Dungeon. Additionally, players who finish the activity before May 6 at 6:59 PM can purchase exclusive merchandise from the Bungie Store, including a shirt jacket and a bracelet. Those who unlock the Seal and achieve the Title Scavenger before the deadline will earn an exclusive pin.
Fans can catch the World First race live on Twitch, with opportunities to earn the Emblems mentioned below, noting that the acquisition of the third emblem has been postponed.
Finally, to ensure a smooth experience, certain elements will be temporarily disabled. For instance, to embark on the quest The Submerged Labyrinth, players must converse with Ikora at the Tower. It has been confirmed that there will be no French dubbing available.
