Like almost the entire textile trade, Peek & Cloppenburg is clearly suffering from the effects of the pandemic. The fashion retailer plans to open several new stores in Germany and Europe in 2022.

Despite the ongoing corona pandemic, the fashion retailer Peek & Cloppenburg KG Düsseldorf (P&C) is planning to open several new stores in Germany and Europe in the coming year.

The company announced that new openings were on the agenda in Giessen, Weil am Rhein, Prague and Brussels. In Gießen, P&C only closed its branch in summer 2019.

Like almost the entire textile trade, P&C is also suffering significantly from the effects of the corona pandemic. In the 2020 financial year, the Peek & Cloppenburg Group, with its corporate headquarters in Düsseldorf and Vienna, had 138 stores in 15 countries. At just over a billion euros, Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf’s net sales were more than 400 million euros below the previous year’s level. Peek & Cloppenburg KG Vienna posted net sales of 560 million euros, a decrease of 29.2 percent compared to the previous year.

Despite all the challenges, the fashion retailer continues to focus on expansion. The company’s aim is to become “Europe’s leading omnichannel multi-brand retailer for fashion by 2026”. Important steps on the way are the expansion of the stationary network of Peek & Cloppenburg and the subsidiary Anson’s as well as the expansion of the online offer.

In Germany there are two legally and economically independent companies Peek & Cloppenburg with their headquarters in Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
