A 62-year-old man was fatally injured while working in the forest. When delimbing a freshly felled tree, the trunk moved and buried the pensioner, as the police announced on Saturday. Rescue and resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. The man died on Friday evening at the scene of the accident.
The man had felled the tree with a 57-year-old helper in a forest near Denkendorf (Eichstätt district). The criminal police determined the exact course of the accident. There was no evidence of third-party negligence.
