At Christopher Street Day (CSD) in Munich, lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals, intersexuals and queer people celebrated and demonstrated for their rights.

The political parade was held under the motto “United in Diversity – Together against the Right”. More than 200 groups were registered for the four-kilometer-long parade along the Isar and around the old town, including many vehicles with Music. The number of participants was slightly below the 400,000 last year, said a police spokesman.

The mood was good and there were no incidents, said a CSD spokesman. Munich’s mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) is the patron of the CSD and is also opening the town hall for a Pride party with musicians from the techno, house and hip hop scene. In addition to the main stage on Marienplatz, there were also street parties, information stands, music and activities throughout the city center.
