Darts World Cup 2022: world association postpones games due to World Cup finals

“Game on” at Ally Pally: From December 15, 2022 to January 3, 2023, the best darts players in the world will once again be fighting for the most important title in their sport. A total of 96 participants from 18 countries, including three women for the first time, are in England’s capital London, where – with the exception of Christmas Eve, the Christmas holidays and New Year’s Eve – the afternoon and evening sessions are played.

Germany is represented by three players. That’s one fewer than last year. Gabriel Clemens, Martin Schindler and Florian Hempel want to annoy the world elite in the famous Alexandra Pallace and win as much prize money as possible from the tournament, which is endowed with around 2.9 million euros (prize: approx. 580,000 euros).

Darts World Cup: Who will be crowned the best?

In addition to defending champion Peter Wright from Scotland, world number one Gerwyn Price (Wales) is also one of the favorites for the title. The Dutchman Michael van Gerwen may not have been number one in the world for some time, but he is also capable of the title. After a weaker year in 2021, he recently showed a lot of improvement. England’s Michael Smith, a finalist at the previous World Cup, is also consistently cited as a contender.

From now on you will always find the most important news about the 2022 World Cup tournament here.
