Dachau: youth aldermen wanted – Dachau

The next election for youth aldermen in the Dachau district will take place in 2023 for a five-year term of office. The district office is still looking for volunteers until March 10th. Legal knowledge is not necessary.

Young people who have committed a crime are tried before the juvenile court at the district court in Dachau and the youth chamber of the district court in Munich. Not only professional judges are involved in the verdicts, but also lay judges, the “Jugendschöffen”.

Police officers and lawyers are excluded

You can be proposed or apply. Your selection should represent a cross-section of the population in terms of age, gender and occupation. They must be between 25 and 70 years old, live in the district and be German citizens. Anyone who is professionally involved in the administration of justice is excluded, such as lawyers, police officers and prison officers.
