The police operation lasted several hours on Tuesday afternoon in Dachau, triggered by a mentally disturbed pensioner with a nail gun. The Wiener Strasse and Jahnstrasse area was cordoned off.

A mentally disturbed 79-year-old from Dachau shot several nails out of his apartment into a neighboring property with a compressed air blow-out gun on Tuesday afternoon. The pensioner had barricaded himself in his apartment, triggering a police operation lasting several hours, and the Wiener Straße and Jahnstraße area was cordoned off.

Police said there were people on the neighboring property who were not injured. Forces from the Dachau Police Inspectorate, from surrounding departments and the Police Inspectorate Special Units were deployed. Shortly after 8 p.m., the pensioner was moved to leave the apartment by specially trained officers from the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North.
