Cyclist Lucie Jounier “was voluntarily knocked down” by a driver

The accident occurred Tuesday morning, on a road in Brittany. Three days after participating in Paris-Roubaix, cyclist Lucie Jounier had to face a hell far more dangerous than the cobblestones of the North: human stupidity. While she was in training, the Arkéa runner “was hit by a driver, author of a hit-and-run”, said her team. On Thursday, the 23-year-old runner posted a message on his social networksto give updates. But also push a good rant. “I was voluntarily knocked down by a car on a descent on Tuesday in training. Without reason, we were overtaken by making us a fish tail, then the driver smashed. Unfortunately, I could not avoid the fall, ”she explains on her Instagram account, specifying that she lost consciousness.

In the photos posted by the native runner of Redon, we can see a swollen, swollen face, and her arm in plaster. Transported to the hospital, the Breton suffers from a fracture of the trapezoid and presents “a cranial trauma without apparent hemorrhage on the scanner”. Its duration of unavailability is not yet determined. “I hope to be back on my bike soon,” slips the runner on her network. Lucie Jounier has also warned that she should stay a little away from the screens following the concussion.

Her message was widely commented on and the runner received the support of many cyclists, in particular her partners from the Arkéa team Warren Barguil or Winner Anacona.
