Paramedics in Salzburg now had to deal with a particularly stubborn injured person. When they call the police about the aggressiveness of the young man, their patient piles up – with the ambulance.

A drunk patient fled the police in an ambulance in Austria.

However, the 23-year-old did not get far, as the Salzburg police reported. A patrol stopped the car with the drunk driver behind the wheel, grabbed him and took him back to the hospital. A test there showed that he had 1.8 per mille of alcohol in his blood.

The ambulance had originally taken the man to a hospital in Flachau around 80 kilometers south of Salzburg because he was injured in a bar. Because the patient was aggressive, the police were called. Before they arrived, however, the man had swung behind the wheel of the ambulance and drove away.

He was charged with unauthorized use of vehicles and drink driving.
