Culture Prize – Trophy Wanted – District of Munich

While the Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn brass band, the first culture award winner of the district of Munich, has recently been announced, the competition for the design of the trophy is still ongoing. “After a slow start, the search is going into a second round – not only artists, but also craftsmen and hidden talents from the district can submit their suggestions,” said Tobias Kleinert from the district office. The extended deadline is due to the fact that too few participants applied in the summer. Culture advisor Rainer Klier has decided to start a second round. Whether artist, craftsman, hobbyist or housewife – all citizens of the district can submit their application documents by the end of the year, provided that implementation is guaranteed. “The proposals will be pre-sorted and presented to the Committee for Sport, Culture and Partnerships for voting. The proposals that have already been received from the summer will of course remain in the running,” says the district office’s press release.

We are looking for a creative design with reference to the district, it should be a trophy, sculpture or cup. An identical smaller format is also required for the cultural promotion award – this year the film group Moviejam and the Oberlandler theater group were awarded. There is prize money of 300 euros for the three best designs. The winning design will also receive prize money of 900 euros for the final implementation.
