On the occasion of Mary of Denmark’s 50th birthday, new portraits of the Danish crown prince couple have now been published.

Glamor was not spared here: On the occasion of the upcoming 50th birthday of Mary of Denmark (49) on February 5, the palace published new portraits of the Danish crown prince couple. The crown princess wears a sparkling, floor-length sequined dress in an ice blue silver tone. Her brunette hair was pulled back into a classy bun.

A silver tiara, matching earrings and an ice-blue sash decorated with several brooches were also part of Mary of Denmark’s elegant look. The set dates from the 19th century and was worn by an ancestor of Queen Margrethe at the coronation of Napoleon Bonaparte. For makeup, Mary opted for natural tones but highlighted the eyes with black mascara and some dark shadow.

This is planned for her birthday

Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark (53) traditionally wore his dark blue uniform, which featured fine gold embroidery and numerous medals. The two were photographed by Hasse Nielsen in Amalienborg Palace.

Also on the Instagram account of the Danish royals, the portraits were published. It also states that Mary’s birthday will be celebrated “with a series of events” during the week. Several exhibition openings, visits to the zoo and the University of Copenhagen are planned.
